[IMG] When I am on Saemon's ship and the ship gets boarded, why is the Gith Captain unkillable?

It would ruin the plot if you killed him. You'd save the ship and not end up in Sahaugin city.

I always wondered about that. The first time I ran into the Gith attack, I concentrated all my firepower on the captain as I figured he'd be the toughest one of them. Quite disheartening that no matter how much damage I inflicted on him he just wouldn't die.

Surely it would have made more sense to allow the party to kill him and *then* have the Sahaugin show up?

[IMG] Sahuagin don't "show up" outside their city because they have inner matters to be dealt with first.

[IMG] Just defend your characters from Saemon's crew. If you start killing Githyankis and manage to kill them all, you'll ruin the plot and the game won't be able to continue past that point. Once, I placed Minsc in the middle of the Gith Ship's gang plank and they weren´t able to overrun him. I had to reload, of course, but it was very amusing watching minsc reducing the Gith's crew to pieces without any intervention from my part.

personally i never had a problem with killing the leader because i have a wierd sense of humor. i always like to kill all the underlings, makes me feel like i give off a powerful aura, make the leader know that he is gonna die a horrible death really soon, while i finish off all his underlings :D

And the ship will sink before you even get to attack the captain.

The Githyanki captain is unkillable, not that it matters much since the ship goes down pretty quickly anyway.

Anymore, I attack Saemon. You can kill him before he teleports away, it doesn't affect the storyline or later Saemon appearances, and you get a nice 18,000 XP for killing the bastard. Good times are had by all (well except Saemon).
