Kuroisan appeared...but, why?

Well I had my little fun of tearing down slaver's compoun in my newest run, I killed them all, saved children, and made my exit through the back-door.

As I stepped outside, Kuroisan appeared and challenged me for the Celestial Fury.

Now you may be asking 'what iswrong with that?' Yes he is supposed to come after some time you have CF. Trouble is, I did not have CF. Heck I even have NEVER visited the Temple District, the game was new and we were low level. So why did he spawn?

I managed to beat him though. Made my whole party invisible. My Chorister casted a Minor Globe of Invulnerability, and my Arcane Fist used a protection from acid scroll. My Chorister and Arcane Fist then used their Cloud kill wands a few times, damaging Kuroisan, his acidic backlashes did no damage, he charged for my PC Chorister but he had a few protection from magical weapons scrolls, then he BREACHED me, I had to turn invisible via potion to survive, he does a lot of damage!

I was furious and kinda frustrated. I was not ready for the battle. Why did he spawn?

I managed to kill him after a few tries and abusive use of Cloudkill wand/inv. potions, ring of invisibility, and a ring from a mod with invisiblity effect.

Now I am curious. This is surely a bug. WHy did he come for me? What would happen if I had given him the non-existent CF? Now, when I get the CF in the future, will he come again? Or maybe the bad guys in Temple District won't spawn at all as game thinks I already owned them for some weird reason? Oh I am so confused. Can you help?

There is only one good thing. Katana wielding sweet-heart, Nathaniel really did enjoy Kuroisan's spiffy Katana Sanchuudoku+4!

 

sounds like a pretty big glitch, what mods you got?
and which order did you install them?

sounds like you are the first person this has happened to,

i at a total loss, guess you will just have to see if the guarded compound has baddies in it or not, i think it should as they were part of the original game,


you could always shadow keeper yourself/kill guards the CF and see if he reappears

 

Now now, I can't really list all my mods, suffice it to say that I hve 30-40 mods, all installed at different times, I believe I had them installed in correct order as no major bug appeared; only a few little glitches hee and there, but nothing soo serious, luckily.

 

I've had this happen to me too, at the same place. only seemed to happen if i left through the front door, if i backtracked to the inn he wouldn't appear.

my party could eaily take him, but again, i did not have the CF.

i installed quite some mods on that install, but can't remember all of them. on more recent install/play throughs, i've yet to have this happen to me, if it will happen at all, since i'm sticking to a lot less mods this time.

 

Really? This is suprising indeed. What happened then? Did you still get the CF? And then Kuro appaered again? Huh?

 

Kuroisan will also challenge you if you are carrying Malakar +2. Did you have Malakar when he attacked you?

 

Are you sure? I...I guess I did, but I can not remember where/how I got it. Do you know where one can find Malakar originaly?

IIRC, I was at the Nalia's Keep, there supposed to be a lot of Spirit Trolls there, but they did not spawn, so I cheated, CLUA consoled a lot of Spirit Trolls to the game, I have checked their monster ID via SK beforehand. When they died they each dropped a Malakar+2 for some weird reason. I guess a bug or glitch, I picked only one and handed it to Nathaniel.

 

Malakar is in the maze under Spellhold. I think a troll drops it in the rooms where you match painting with outlines on doors.

 

Yes Kuroisan appears even if you wield Malakar.And probably you CLUAed in the Spirit Troll version kuemper mentioned.

Ha this makes sense to me now, yep I was unlucky to select THAT special troll to spawn. So this is not a bug, yes?
