Rediscovered BG2 and want to play multi with my son. Trying to get my two PC's to multi-play and I need someone to give me some ideas on network setup.

I have (2) PC's that are way over-qualified for BG2. They are on a home network attached to a Linksys. They use TCP/IP to communicate with the Internet through the Linksys. I have Windows XP on both machines and have setup the file and print sharing through the Workgroup setting in Windows. I can share a printer and file fine. I have set the Baldur's Gate directories to be shared on both machines. For some reason, I can't get the two machines to connect. I can create multi-player games on either machine and it finds host options fine. It just will not connect to the other machine via TCP/IP.

Does it have anything to do with Windows Firewall or is there something else? Is it trying to ping before connecting to see if the host IP is available?

Sorry for the long post, and thanks in advance,
    Eric the Red

Man, I wish my dad was as cool as you. :D It's probably the firewall. If you do a search on the forum (there's a link up at the top of the page for the search function), you'll find plenty of simliar threads about MP problems. One of them should help you. :)

[IMG] Looks like the firewall was the answer.

I got the two PC's to connect, but I have yet to play a minute of multi because my son had to go to bed.

Tonight I'll give it another try.
