I tend to use Turn Undead when playing a cleric more often than when playing a paladin.

And the higher level my cleric, the more likely I will use it because it is more reliable for killing undead (as supposed to just causing them to run away for a short time).

Especially for the old D&D games where vampires come in tens (without lag =) ), turning is crucial or else your party will be drained to death.

I found the "turning undead" ability to be indispensable in NWN. Prior to playing that game, I never much used it, but what a difference it made against the throngs of zombies and such in that game! One turning and 10 to 20 at a time just dropped! -- battle over. Now, if there's a cleric in my party, I use it the first opportunity I get.
