For once I have decided to get Imoen back from Spellhold and keep her as an integral part of my party. I normally play MP parties so the only time I've ever used her was when i was a rookie and didnt really know what i was doing. Anyways back on topic, what do you think is an appropriate level to leave for BRynnlaw??
I know the quests for Aran Linvail/Bodhi give a fair chunk of Exp, so taking this into consideration what are the best quests to do for lots of cash but low xp??

I'm trying to make sure Immy has the most Xp possible so What quests should I do to raise the 15000 gp while getting the minimum experience possible?

As an aside what weapons do you think I should get before Spellhold as well??

I'm pretty sure more seasoned veterans than me will be able to answer you better than me, but nevertheless I will offer you my 2 ugly red cents. (I've only been through SoA once, whereas others on here are more experienced so thus listen to them!)

Weapons (wherein not a huge amount of XP is gained in the quests for them):

    -Lilarcor (2Handed Sword)
-Celestial Fury (hopefully someone in your party has at least 2 proficiency points for katana. If not, just use Shadowkeeper!)
-Mace +2 (Mauler's Arm or another +2 Mace, have at least one of your frontliners equipped with a blunt weapon)
    -Staff of Rynn +4
    -Azuredge
-Gnasher +2, or Blackblood +3 if you can afford it (I couldn't at the time, so I settled with Gnasher, and Jaheira's still using Gnasher in ToB right now)

When I went to Brynnlaw, me and my guys had Carsomyr, Lilarcor, Mauler's Arm, Gnasher, Cleric's Staff, and Celestial Fury, but some of the quests to go get those weapons offer a good chunk of XP, which you desire to minimize.

    Just my personal experience:

I finished most of the Chapter 2 quests, including all the major XP givers, before heading to Brynnlaw. The provision I made for Immy's lack of XP, was bring a scroll case full of scrolls we bought or found. I made Immy read them and she gained quite a chunk of XP like that, as well as useful spells that she didn't have before.

I probably didn't answer your question as in-depth as others perhaps could have, but I decided to post anyway because I also was worried about Immy's lack of XP, but I found a way to cushion it very well and I thought I'd share it.

do the maevar quest, it gives you 10k gold as well as the shadow armour.......loot maevar's stronghold (especially the locked safes and doors on 2nd floor) and pick up all loot they drop (when you kill them) and sell anything you dont need, you should net a very nice amount of gold.

    or

travel to city gates and talk to everyone there to get the trademeet quest, do the druid grove quest aswell as the dao quest to net a nice amount of gold as reward and from selling loot (Loot is the key here to get a nice amount of gold no matter which quest you do.)

An option is to wander along athkatla and get the random encounters, kill the enemy and sell their loot until you get enough gold.

just remember to have a equiptment that is good enough for chapter 4 and onward (also chapter 3 just to mention it).

the above post mention some nice weapons to get your hands on.

If you have high pick pocket skill aswell or have several potions of master thiefery, get to the docks and to the thief that sells stolen merchandise, drink those potions, sell the most valuable item you have, steal it back, sell it again and repeat to get lots of gold. (cheap and cheesy way, but still legit.)

If you want to get to Brynnlaw ASAP, you don't need to do ANY of the stronghold quests. I find that I generally have the required 15,000 GP after doing the Circus and slaver quests. Then again, there's are things more important to do with the 15,000 GP than simply close chapter 2. There's a giant strength belt to buy, bracers of defence, etc. Also, at this point you'll only have one +3 weapon (Lilarcor), which probably won't be enough to see you through chapters 3 - 5. You can buy +3 weapons, but it is likely that you'll need to do one or more of the stronghold quests to get the money for these. Alternatively, there are some parties whose stuff you can loot and sell - the slave lords and Tarnor and his goons in the Temple District sewers spring to mind (hint for beating these guys: Remove Fear + Web). You have to at least start various stronghold quests to get some NPCs in your party (Nalia, Valygar, Mazzy, Cernd) while other NPCs will only join when you complete a quest (Edwin, Haer'Dalis). In addition, some NPCs will leave if you don't do what you promised, Nalia certainly and, I think, Keldorn.

My advice is: take your time. No matter when you leave for Brynnlaw, Imoen is going to be miles behind the rest of you when she rejoins, so have fun in the meantime. All(?) the stronghold quests become MUCH harder after you emerge from the Underdark. Having Imoen 1 million XP behind the rest of the party upsets me greatly. You can remedy this easily enough with Shadowkeeper. If you feel that this is an unacceptable practice, take XP away from the rest of your party to make up the difference.

ahh yes, i nearly forgot those non-quest encounters.

in waukeens there is a party on the second floor of the inn with some nice items, kill em.

in bridge district, on the second floor of the outhern inn, there is another party with yet more sweet stuff to grab, keep or sell.

the guy above already mentioned temple sewers.

Be warned though, some quest cannot be done after chapter 2\3 have been closed.
