Lil' Game (oh I'm so into poetry..)

Now here it is: (not very original but still)

Each person writes two lines of poetry, if possible rhyming with the two previous ones (any kind of rhyming system: abba, abab, aabb...).

My idea is : A global Epic/Lyrical Poem (possibly in the heroic fantasy genre).

Here go the first two lines :

Gaze, my brothers, at the moon,
know it will be fading soon,

 

Still, not a bad idea. excellent in fact.

Daze, for all the lives I take,
show that no emotions break.

 

Why only seven syllables per line? Arrgh! I'm used to eighteen!

Dark decisions led me here;
darker still my burnt career

 

Time for action, this I know;
Yet weary of this life I grow.

(OK, the last line had 8 syllables, but "yet" is more of a lead-in )

 

So spoke the warrior, scarred and broken
And the Moon heard, and bowed her head;


(oh, and any number of syllables is fine: as long as it fits )

 

For the news, the stars had spoken,
"for we have lost, the king is dead"

hmm... remarkably morbid thoughts today but what can I say, I'm a poet.

 

and with a new king darkness will rise
Disturbing our so called paradise

 

But what is paradise to one might to another seem
A pile of dust - the fragments of some long-since shattered dream.

 

For what are somebody's dreams then, this I say:
The means for escaping the everyday.

 

And if you can't fight the monsters of the night
You must fight yourself in the morning light...

 

And should the dawn break and you have won,
Glory in victory with the rising of the sun.

 

But the joy of vict'ry is fleeting,
When soon The Reaper you are meeting.

 

thy heir, though, the noble son
may wield a sword, thy foes are weeping
