I am a very proud daughter and sister!

Go to www.poolefsc.freeserve.co.uk and look for pictures. There will be a picture of my brother Alex Welch with the Poole Borough footy team as he was a mascot and he got his ball signed!!

Also, my dad (Mike Welch) works for Poole Borough, so look out for him too.

BTW, my brother has light brown hair, a silly grin :D and is rather small...He's crouching down.

Have you ever had a famous encounter before? Feel free to tell me about it.

    Teeny
(Bustin' my pants with pride :D )

[IMG] My Grandad - Pablo King was in a newspaper shown with the queen inspecting the horses. he was also a friend of the Queen Mother

I've been on a video of 'Alice in Wonderland' and been in the papers twice - once for Victorian day when our class was dressed up, once when I was singing in a show. I also used to write poetry that was put in the church newletters

    Congrats TeenyS

I was on TV, however briefly, on the night of the execution of Terry Something-or-other, the 1st execution in NM for 40-ish years. We also didn't get recognized by many people, but what the heck!

We also met quite a few newscasters from KOAT, like in the mall or wherever.

My mom and dad were good friends w/ Governor Johnson, too.

    Inre: ever been famous?
Audrey Hepbern told me she had saved a violin string of mine as a momento of our making music together.

And I will be on TV again soon, when the SF symphony movie with Micheal Tilson Thomas gets aired.

I could go on but I feel like I am bragging, which is an unpleasant thing...

I haven't met anyone near famous, but my dad shook hands with Brian Mulroney (former prime minister of Canada) before he was a prime minister, and met the lead singer of Oasis in Spain, although he didn't know it. So no autograph

[IMG] My mother was with her friends and she ran up to this famous ballet dancer as he was about to get into a taxi - he said "Ah Hello!" Thinking they wanted an autograph but they got into his taxia and drove off

When I fenced I had my picture in the local paper a few times, and I got to play-fence with the mascot for the local baseball team. I also got to meet the star relief-pitcher from the same team and even wear his World Series ring for a few minutes. Several years later I saw him on an airplane and he remembered me! He gave me a ride home from the airport, carried my luggage into the house, and offered to share a joint.

A few minutes explaining and discussing the operation of a particular piece of military equipment with two nigerian Generals who later ended up taking over Nigeria in a military coup.

Yeah, what can I say. They appeared friendly and harmless. I was young and ambitous...

Oh yeah, I had lunch in the same tent as the Commander of the Chinese Army once.

Taza, Virne and other Finns here probably remember that big to-doo about those kids who ran away from the group home and killed the worker on their way here in Finland some time ago?

I am currently rooming with one of them.

Get out, either you have been around during 50s ~ 60s or this will be not possible. The chief commander of PLA is at least the second most powerful person in PROC, he would have lunch with anyone in a tent even if it is the Mao's spirit. (Absolute power = Absolute corruption)

If you are talking about Taiwan (ROC) then that might be convincing.

[IMG] Nope teekc, it actually was The Commander of the PLA. It was a very big deal for all involved.
He was visiting Sweden and I was part of a group of officers who demonstrated a swedish howitzer. Naturally he was accompanied by the swedish Supreme Commander (ÖB) and I didn't get closer than maybe 10 meters to him. Afterwards lunch was served in a (very big) tent. I didn't say I ate at the same table. ;)

    Btw, this was around '85.

    [IMG] DOH!
Just now I realized you are not an eager learning, streetwise sweedish Teen with too much time to play BG2.

*Grumbles on how I could miss that for two years*

Sorry man. After all we've been through Earl, with Gloin Bonehead and Retsnimble. Dang I feel bad. :(
