    I wasn't a big fan but his music was great. Nothing like Luther Vandross to put you in the mood for some loving. :D

    Isn't 'RnB' different than Rhythm and Blues, even if both mean the same thing?

    I thought that RnB was crap pop music e.g. all black girl bands?

    Well, the past twenty years has changed what I consider R&B; it's now called Soul. We're talking Aretha Franklin, the afore mentioned male trio, etc. Destiny's Child is *not* R&B or Soul, IMO.

    The best examples of real R&B would be singers from the 1930s and 40s. Examples aren't popping in my head right now. Give me a few minutes. Billie Holiday and Josephine Baker are good ones.

    As for white R&B artists, I'd say try the Righteous Brothers - their tagline was 'blue-eyed soul'. Some Eric Clapton; his early stuff just after splitting from Cream. Does this help, HB?
