[IMG] Ok here's the scoop, a mage gets 2 quick weapon slots, a thief gets 2, all others get 2 or more EXCEPT a Mage-thief????? Mage-Thief only gets 1????? What's wrong with this pictureF!?! Does anyone know what file has to be changed to give the Mage-Thief 2 quick weapon slots or know of a mod that will change the Mage-Thief UI to correct this? You're help will be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks

AFAIK, you cannot change that. Assuming that I'm correct, the abilities bar is hardcoded the way it is. Besides, the space for more slots is taken up by thieving abilities and magic casting slots.

Thanks for the reply but it's changeable somewhere because a Cleric-Mage or a Fighter-Thief and a Cleric-Thief all have 2 so it has the ability for 2 and I have Ieep and other editors with which to change it I just don't know which file has the info I need to change.
    Thanks

IIRC, then they are hardcoded those ways too. Each class or multiclass has a set number, depending on which classes are mixed.

A F/T having two does not mean that a M/T will have two, not by any means. Why should it?

An apple seed may give you a tree, but that doesn't mean that you are going to get a tree from a pineapple (which don't grow on trees).

In Baldur's gate you have five slots for quick weapons, skills, and spells. The thief class needs three slots for "find traps", "thieving", and "stealth". The mage class needs one for "spells", combine that and you only have one slot left for weapons. Also, a cleric thief does not have two weapon slots, they only have one and they even lose the turn undead button. The game is set up so that most non warrior class have two weapon slots, but any spell casting class combined with a thief only has one since they have too many abilities.

As a note, in BG2 they expanded the total number of slots to six, meaning a mage thief there would have his two weapon slots. If you want that in normal baldur's gate you could try the BG TUTU, or Easy TUTU mods, which convert the bg1 game to use the BG2 engine.

Actually, Cleric/Thieves only have one as well. And while they introduce an interesting idea (sticking the Pick Pocket / Pick Lock / Disarm Trap button in Special Abilities), the hard-code makes it rather difficult (if not impossible) to change even for a seasoned modder. Trying to change it will only get you into trouble (crashes & other glitches).
