    [IMG] Hi all,
I'm thinking about trying Oblivion (I'm currently on Morrowind), I was just wondering how the Magic system has been improved (or not)
I hated it in Morrowind, I felt the casting times were too long, and the fact you had to switch from weapons to magic (F and R keys), wasn't very convenient.
Same for magic Items, it made no sense: I mean, I have the wizard staff in my hands, why cant I use its powers without having to go in magic mode (r key)?

    thanks.

Yes, they significantly upgraded the magic system in combat, addressing the exact points you've made. You'll probably be much happier with the Oblivion combat system. :)

i wouldn't know about casting times, since they're almost instant in oblivion, but you no longer need to switch from weapons to magic when you want to use them

all in all, oblivion is a truely awsome magical experience, nice graphics and physics doing their job really well...

I know I'm happier with the spell system in Oblivion. It was so HARD to make a successful mage in Morrowind :bad:

Since I played Oblivion before playing Morrowind I had to get use to the spell casting in Morrowind but once I did I had no problem with it and could cast quite quickly. I think the casting is more natural looking in Oblivion but I could do with out the smoke and bubbles. Too much bothers my eyes. If there is some way to turn that off I would like to know it. Fireworks for destruction is fine but since I mainly play a sneaky type character I'd like some nice quiet unobtrusive spells especially invisibility.
