When you get a mage scroll, you must scribe it into your spell book. In your inventory, simply RIGHT CLICK (I think it's right click), if not LEFT CLICK on the scroll you want to write into your book. You'll get a WRITE MAGIC button on the bottom of the spell description if you can WRITE it. If you cannot write the spell, it's because (a, you cannot learn it since you're a specialty wizard or b) it's a cleric spell or c) it's 7th level or higher).

When you memorize a spell, it means your mage knows it until she casts it. Once she has casted it, she must learn it again and memorize it, then rest to be able to access it.

At 2nd level, I believe you'll be able to cast 2 1st level spells or possibly more if you're a specialist wizard.

[IMG] You can add new spells, simply by right clicking a spell scroll in your inventory. There you'll have to option "Write Magic". Then, depending on your int (and luck) the spell will be added to your spell book and vanish... or simply vanish :)

If you then cluck your spellbook you'll see the new spells there, ready to be memorized. Remember though, that a priest doesn't need to write magic. His spell book is automatically "updated" by his god as he advances in levels.

Hope this helps, if you got any questions at all, please ask, we're here to help each other, aren't we ?

So if I buy or find them....move those to the book by r or l clicking them and I should have something to put it in the spell book.....and she is a mage

Thanks for your help....I will be posting many more questions the more I play

  5. 1 more thing...

Always quicksave (press Q) before you attempt to copy scrolls into your spell book. That way if you fail you can re-l0oad and try again. Notice that if you look at your character Record (press R), it will list your characters chance to learn a spell.

You can find scrolls or buy them from some shopkeepers.
