[IMG] Please provide your impressions and reviews of the game. I'm sure a few of our European denizens have beaten the thing already.

Details (of the non-spoiler variety) much appreciated. :)

I still don't like how rigid the camera is, + how little I am able to pan back. But so far it's pretty fun, the NPC's are 10x better and less annoying than the previous ones... no more, "OMG~!! OMG!!! OMG!!!"... ugh..

I miss my old interface, xUI, which hasn't yet been adopted for the latest patch. I find rotation control overly sensitive, too. It took me some 10 minutes to figure out how to re-set camera they way I had it in the previous campaign.

That said, story and setting so far are really nice, and my character of choice, Gruff Fraybrawler, is a very straightforward fighter 6 (goal: 13)/ weapon-master 7/ frenzied berserker 7 (goal: 10). Weapon of choice is his greataxe, and the 4x multiplier with improved + enhanced power attack + rage will be fearsome to say the least. When starting I attacked those puny red wizards in Musanthir and scored some crits in the almost-200 damage range, and I was only on lvl-20, lacking all those nifty feats my char will chose (greater weapon specialisation, epic weapon specialisation etc. …

I still don't quite understand the the new essences and enchanting, but that'll come.

Yes. But I was asking for SP user reviews, obviously.

Regarding the camera: I hated it at first, and fiddling around in the settings didn't seem to do much good. Then for some reason, when I loaded up one of my old saves from the OC, the camera problem was fixed and went back to what I was used to. At first I thought the new screwy camera was built in for expansion games, but then when I loaded up an expansion save, the camera stayed the way I liked it.

So far, it's great all in all. I LOVE how non-archetypal the NPCs are. Not too far in though..

I like the NPC you find in the prison - so as not to spoil it for anyone I won't go into detail, but I enjoy having someone in the party that's calm about EVERYTHING.

    I love the prison guy!

It's really been a while since i've been so intrigued about an NPC, but the main thing i love about him is that he's in no way transparent or simple. We all know the usual type: I'm after [insert] for [insert] but i'll just hang around with you indefinitely instead. At least this guy is a bit of an enigma.
There's a catch of gaining influence with party members. Behave the way they would and they like you more and vice versa. So far (pretty early though) i've yet to discover a formula that works for him.

I figured it out pretty fast while I was starting off with an evil character. I'm pretty sure he just likes "honest" answers and opinions. "Honest" meaning what he would consider truthful haha. So base it off that.

I liked the Gann character too, and if you are playing a female character you have the possibility of having a romance with him.

Just finished the game and I have to admit that I really liked it although I never really did get the problem with the camera solved. The story was a lot more interesting than the original NWN2 game and waaay waaay more interesting than the original NWN games and expansions.

    **Mild Spoiler**

Gann likes all things witty and sarcastic. He is a wordplay specialist and as such will have an explosion of worship every time you manage to get him with a witty comment.

As far as reviewing the game goes, I don't have the inclination to write a full review, but I was certainly more impressed with this story than the OC. Much more interesting and engaging story, although as several people have already mentioned, the camera control is somewhat awkward to get used to at first. To start with, I thought there was very little dialogue between characters until I realised the real "meat" of the dialogue and interesting stuff can only be found when you actively talk to your NPCs.

The only part I didn't really like too much was the final encounter, which I thought was far too easy, and far too drawn out. Not going to go into too much detail here. And for the record, the so called romance with Safiya was massively unfulfilling, and I thought it had the feel of a "filler", something they added at the last minute to add some extra features to the game. The fact that you don't even have a conversation about feelings until a few minutes before the conclusion kinda nullifies it as far as I'm concerned.

Still, a fantastic story and a game I couldn't put down so it gets the thumbs up from me :)
