Max Exp Levels and Party Numbers

    I've finished the game umpteen times, and I was just wondering, doing all the side quests and everything what is the max experience one can get out of SoA(and ToB but I'll post this in a different forum).

    Keepeing this in mind what do you think is the optimum number of chars to benefit from this. Is it better to have six mid level characters with slow level progression, or three multi or dualled chars absolutely rocketing up in levels and quickly becoming reckoning powers in the planes.

    I have no idea what the maximum XP you can get but I would recommend a party of 4, at the most 5 to max out comfortably in SoA. I don't always complete every quest so you might be able to max out to the XP cap in SoA with a party of 6, but who needs 6 char's anyway?

    Even with a party of 6 I usually max at least 4 characters. Usually all the NPC's that I had from the beginning (Jahiera, Minsc, Imoen, etc). I have all of them at their max levels regardless. The XP cap is 2.95 million, and that means a max level of...
    Fighter, Barbarian= 19
    Paladin, Ranger, Wizard, Sorcerer= 17
    Cleric, Monk= 21
    Theif, Bard= 23
    Druid= 14
    I usually have the XP disabled because I really hate it when you kill a baddie, but don't get any expierience for it!

    I find it more fun to have just 4 characters. For NPC's, my favs are Cernd, Valygar, Mazzy, Nalia, Aerie, Jahiera and Haer'Dalis... so I'll choose a some of those and have Minsc or Korgan along just for some added buttkickery (sp? word?) :D

    [​IMG] The ToB forum covers both SoA and ToB, so you don't need to post separate topics on the same issue in both forums. Just post it in the ToB forum. And please read the forum descriptions/stickies, this is clearly stated there.

    I'll leave this one open as your other one in the ToB forum is not word by word identical, but don't do this in the future, as any duplicate topics will be deleted.

    I responded in the ToB forum before I saw this topic, so I won't repeat myself. However, bear in mind that, unless you have the XP cap removed, you will hit maximum levels regardless of the number of members in your party; it just takes longer with a full-sized party. One problem I have is that, since for me part of the attraction of RPG's is the levelling-up, a small party becomes less interesting sooner. (All the more reason to remove the cap I guess, but I haven't done that yet.)
