McCain just kissed his chances to ever be president goodbye

Senator McCain just officially killed any chance at the Presidency that he might have had. It seems that the McCain wanted to impress his kids (McCain's statment), so he agreed to a cameo appearance in the movie Wedding Crashers, and R rated movie that will supposedly have a considerable amount of frontal nudity (at least of ladies, so the guys will enjoy it even if the ladies miss out), foul language, and raunchy humor. After giving Hollywood such scathing speeches about its production of R rated movies, and subsequent marketing of them to teenagers in Senate hearings, his appearance in just such a movie pretty much sticks the label of "hypocrite" permanently on him.

Don't get me wrong, I am not offended in any manner by the movie or his appearance in it, I probably would have gone to see it, and this will make it even more interesting to me, but it is not a good idea in today’s political world to give your opponent such easy material to use against you.

Sorry, I heard this one on the way in to work on the radio, so I don't have a link other than the one below:

Senator John McCain and political consultant James Carville cameo in a scene with Christopher Walken

He didn't have much of a chance anyway - unless he wanted to run as a third party canidate. I think it was blatantly obvious during the 2000 presidential primaries that the Republicans simply don't want McCain to be president. If your own party won't even support your bid, the thought that a movie would drive the final nail in the coffin is laughable.

I mean, appearing in an R-rated movie wouldn't have any more impact on his presidential chances than if McCain had children with a black mistress. Oh wait...

[IMG] Hey Darkwolf...did you ever consider he's appearing in the movie because he intends to run as a Democrat? :D
