I think that it happens in every game, but I'm not sure. What ticks me off is that if Aerie dies in the game, Minsc goes berserk and...well...generally kills everything. I was hoping that after that dialogue, Aerie wouldn't keep whining about her wings, and Jeheira, and so on. Ah well.

Minsc´s old witch - Dynaheir was killed and since he, as a ranger from Rashemen has to escort and protect a witch, he feels he failed. So protecting Aerie will restore his honour and pride.

Just wondering. If you play a female magic user, will you then have a chance of becoming Minsc's witch?

Doesn't Minsc ask Edwin to be his witch after Edwin's....transformation :D? I never had both in my party.

    I didn't tell Minsc, I killed Dynaheir in BG1...
I think I had a bug or something, because, if you didn't kill her, Edwin would ran away (Which happened the first time), and if you did, Minsc was supposed to go berserk and you would had to kill him too.
Well, with my game, Minsc actually helped killing Dynaheir, and when she died, he went along with my party and with Edwin, and they were both happy.
Minsc never even said something about dynaheir being dead....
It was one of those very, very few bugs that is actually cool to have...!

I got Arie to be Minsc's new witch, just to stop him moaning and flirting with her, then killed her off. He mumbled something about failing again, and hasn't mentioned it since :)

in my experience it only happens if you have a "happy" party in other words get them 1-2 rounds of beer every pub (not enough to get drunk though) that almost counters the effect.
