I don't know if this is allowed, but if it isn't, then please delete this.

I decided to play Baldurs Gate 2 yesterday, and tried to do a full install, but 2 files from Disk 2 won't install. I managed to do the recommended install, and was happily playing up until now. I got to the docks district, and then I wasn't able to leave, it always crashed when loading the new area, ie. not starting the loading process, but the screen coming up.

I was worried, and decided to check if I was missing any files, and on the Disk 2/CD2/Data file, I was missing two files, AREA000C.bif and AREA000D.bif. I think these must be textures or something, and I was wondering if someone would please make these available to me.

I know this is a big thing to ask, and probably the answer will be no, but I really want to play BG2, and sadly I can't afford the ~£30 for a new copy.

    Thanks for your time, Andy

Are you sure your CD is clean? Perhaps it's not a scratch on it, but it just has to be cleaned (use a tissue).

Anyway, those are very big files. If you don't have response on your request, your other option is to ask for those files on BIS BG2 TS forum or to go for replacement CD here:

    Yeah, they are about 5.5Mb.

I have tried cleaning my disk, but I have had them for a long time, and they are all very scratched.

I will try those links, thanks very much.

EDIT 1: The replacement disk program only works in the US and Canada :(

    EDIT 2: I've fixed it!

I found the files on the other disks, and added them to my cache file.

Thanks for the help Extremist :D
