Well, Any non-Weidu first and then All Weidu-compatible I guess. Could you be a little more specific please? Like which mod you want to install? Generaly speaking, all Weidu mod are (to a certain degree) compatible with each other. However someone else you more technical knowledge could explain why they are compatible.

I recommend asking or searching the modders at G3 They have the best answers ;)

... or just wait for one to wander by. (And thanks for the compliment Shaitan, it's appreciated.)

In general, you want your order to be

    SoA
    ToB
    Official Patch
Non-WeiDU mod (few of these are even left--at most only install one)
BG2 Fixpack (or BD if you prefer)
    WeiDU mods

In general, a good readme can help with your install order. (Make a modder's day--read 'em please. :) ) If you specific mods in mind, we may be able to offer specific suggestions. Otherwise, a rough guideline would be NPC, content, and item mods early, Quest mods later, and tweaking mods last. Within those broad categories, go with older mods earlier before newer mods.

I know it's all very vague and woolly, but that's about as good as I can offer without more info.

Should you patch BG1 if you plan to install BG1Tutu/BGT?

Official patches are always good. :) Keep in mind, though, that the 3-disc 'Original Saga' release of BG is already patched.

As to whether or not you need any of the unofficial stuff--EasyTutu contains its own fixes, so nothing is needed on either the BG or BG2 side. For traditional Tutu, unofiicial fixpacks for both are fine except the Dudleyville fixes for BG, which cause problems with the conversion.

For BGT, I'm not so sure. It's been undergoing a transition from the old, colossal monster (where you didn't even need a BG install as it contained everything) to a more Tutu-like installer, where the BG install becomes more and more important as resources are converted on the fly. The BGT folks over at SHS would likely be able to answer your question.

Hi CamDawg, am I correct to understand that no patch is needed if I have the BG1 and BG2 combined version 'Complete Saga' (i.e. BG1 with the Sword Coast and BG2 with TOB).

Not that I'm curious about Tutu (yet), but when I play through BG2 and TOB, I've encountered problems when I added "official patch" before the G3 Fix (or Balderdash fix which I used the first couple of times).

And thanks for all your informative posts over past months.

I'm actually unfamiliar with the 'Complete Saga'--I didn't know they had put together BG and BG2 into one package. Check your docs or Bioware's site/forums, however, I would not be surprised if it came patched. As I mention a few posts up, Bioware included the patch when they combined BG & TotSC into 'The Original Saga' release.

If you find the answer, let us know. :)

From what I've heard, the Complete Saga has patches already included. So adding patches on top of that...would cause problems.
