I saw that tactics seems to be an overkill for difficulty. I'm wanting to fight everything possible and make the game long, but not to where I get overpowered and bored. Ideas?

Set everything to the highest difficulty, and only add in mods like the banterpack and minor stuff like that.

I'd suggest The Big Picture v177, it gives vastly improved ai to every creature in the game, level50 ruleset and includes some of the less cheesy/overpowered encounters from tactics

I'll chime in and say that Quest Pack is yet another mod which includes combat enhancement components. I generally operate on the assumption that the game is hard enough on normal difficulty, and should scale up more on hard and insane, so if you're looking for a real Tactics-style challenge it probably won't cut it, but if you're after enemies which don't trickle one-by-one to attack the nearest summon, it gets the job done.
I'm also pretty sure that nothing I do should overpower the player character--XP and material rewards are no more liberally available than they usually are.

It also includes loads of quests and stuff. Who'd have thought!

PS. THIS is what real pimping looks like.

Not that any further pimping is necessary, but I'd also recommend the QuestPack. Very polished, nice mix of additional quests with good combat and dialogues (some of it voiced) ... and it gets extra points from me for so seamlessly incorporating a song lyric into a dialogue (hilarious if you recognise it, doesn't seem at all out of place if you don't).

Unfinished Business is yet another worthwhile mod
