A thread for the discussion of Monks, builds, etc.

I've thought of playing with one myself.

The idea is to rely on Swift Strikes as the sole wounds-activated ability, enhanced by Turning Wheel, Lesser Wounds, Two-Weapon Style, and Lightning Strikes.

Might, Constitution, and Dexterity would be the stats to be emphasized.

This Monk would strike from the flank after Eder and Pallegine take up positions. Potentially the DPS could be amazing. Also, the race would be Moon Goodlike, so that the Silver Tide ability recoups endurance lost during each encounter. The Shod-In-Faith Boots would definitely be welcome as well.

My hang up is ... If I go with this during Hard or PotD, can such a build cut the mustard? Do I end up straining Health and a Cleric's or Druid's healing abilities, more so when I am forced to carry less camping supplies during the Hard or PotD setting?

    Thoughts?

Also, feel free to venture your own builds or your own thoughts on Monks as a class.

The biggest problem with monk, I've found, is walking the line between consistently accumulating wounds and getting your face caved in. This challenge grows considerably harder on PotD.
