Has anyone here ever played using non-conventional, monster races with classes? (e.g. an umber hulk monk, a troll fighter, a wight rogue, etc.)

[IMG] Yes, and no. We currectly have a Blue Goblin in our party. Hence some non-standard races are OK but others are a bit to stong for good game balance. It's all up to the DM. You don't want the non-standard races to over-power the normal ones in the party. There is an effective character level chart that tells the power of each race For example your Troll fighter would be level to a normal fighter 11 levels higher. Here is a link to the chart. http://www.wku.edu/~charles/rpgs/d&d/list_ecl.html

    Enjoy but keep it balanced.
