More suggestions for my next party setup?

[IMG] Once again the big question is asked: What to play next?

I just finished BG-1 with my halfling paladin easily and simply playing an halfling cavalier again (though the char is *great*) would be a wee bit too much even for me.

-I´m wondering what char I could play for the next time.
I played an evil game for a time but I didn´t went very far for it broke my heart to do so many evil things - I fear I´m paladin infested now. I guess the only interesting things playing evil are how to solve the trademeet quests, tirdir´s quest and to join Bohdi.

So the only thing that is in question, is which good aligned char I could play now. My possible choices (though different suggestions are welcome) are:

#1 elven mc fighter-mage (having Imoen for the "core" of spells; armed with one ore two katanas)
#2 mc gnomish illusionist-thief or elven mage-thief (using a buckler and daggers)
#3 elven archer (interesting: soft-skinned ranged weapon fighter, I think he should use the defender of easthaven in single weapon style)
    #4 monk (disadvantage: supertank)
#5 halfling fighter using flails and slings (grandmastery in slings :D - disadvantage: a tank again.

I want to point out that I insist in having Sir Donaldus, my halfling cavalier, at my side :D he´s too cool and he´ll probably be the main melee char. I think I´ll try to avoid a "hard-skinned" tank party for I want a difference in playing style and tactics. Basically I´ll try to rely more on spells.

-The next big question is which romance I want to have in the game. I finished the Aerie romance and I went pretty far in both Jaheira´s and Viconias romance but never really finished both of them.

-I also look for a change in NPCs: I had Jaheira, Minsc, Mazzy, Kheldorn and Imoen at my side the last time.
I dislike Anomen, Jan, Nalia, Yoshi and Korgan. Leaves Viconia, Aerie, Edwin, Valygar as possible new candidates.

    any ideas?

the monk may be supertank but you have to try it just ones. Take Jaheira with you for the romance and Valygar as tank (he kicks ass with with celes. fury and girdle strenght 19). Take Imoen with you for the story. (Kinda looks like my team except for Minsc and Thorin)

Ragusa - go and buy a new game, 15 times through BG2 is not healthy for anyone :) Seriously though, looking at what you have posted why not go for a pure Sorcerer this time. I found them to be fun and powerful and more flexible than a Mage. You'll also have a very magically themed party, which should worry Valygar no end. Also, if you are going to do a romance remember to take some of the other love interests so you get all of the bickering. For other party/character ideas take a look at the following site. You probably have already been there but the guy has lots of 'themed' parties. This might help to give you some more ideas.

    Ragusa -

I'm figuring out the same question, but didn't want to open a new topic (glad you did so I can steal your ideas!!!)

I've always been a paladin, and once a fighter / thief that someone lent me :D

I want to start a new party next week with the TOB Add-In and play all the way through.

Thinking of an Archer - most of my last parties were "walk up and kick the monster's arse" warriors. It would be a good change of tactics to have a missle-driven party.

For you, why not play a druid!?! I know they lack some of the tank qualities, but their spells really do rock, and the wolfwere shapechange is awesome!

    Just a thought!

Oh - and for the romances - use the patch and romance them all. It might be slightly different to have all three of them on you!

[IMG] Since you are ok with Edwin and Viconia why not have them along next time?
You could have an evil or neutral character.
What about a thief (kit) and dual class to a mage or cleric?

    - Suggestion:
    Dual classed Swashbuckler/Mage.
    Viconia
    Edwin
    Korgan (or some other "tank")

    Personally I love Korgan! :)

Be a dwarven assassin!! You combine the low dex of a dwarf with the low skill gain of an assassin. Dwarven assassins are fun to play with.

Oh yeah, use your first roll also.

If you want new NPCs don't forget the 3 hidden NPCs Kivan Drizzt and Boo. I've had Kivan in my party for a while and he's great to have again!
