[IMG] I'm just curious on what everyone's idea of the most powerful all PC party would be. Mine would look something like this...

Multi Half-Elf Fighter/Mage (Halberds, Protagonist for familiar)
Multi Half-Elf Ranger/Cleric (Flail of Ages and Crom)
    Multi Elf Fighter/Thief (Katanas/Longswords dual)
    Human Inquisitor (2H Swords, duh)
Elf Sorcerer (Staff of Magi/Sling of Everard)

That party has everything covered, healing, thieving, 4 out of 5 people who can own in a melee fight, ability to drop any mage protection (Inquisitor Dispel+Carsomyr or breach), plenty of thieving skills, all main classes of HLA, hell the group can even turn undead (albeit weakly), so what do you think? What's your most powerful party?

This is actually pretty amazing. I was thinking about this just the other day, and my party was almost exactly the same as yours. The only differences are that, instead of a fighter/mage, I was thinking possibly about a skald (magic and great bard song) (don't have my heart set on this, though), and adding a sixth PC, half-orc or dwarven Kensai - katanas/scimitars dual, and change the F/T from katanas/long swords to long swords/short swords.

Yeah I thought about another PC but I figured I might as well just keep it at 5 for the exp. It's not like I couldn't handle anything with that party anywayz. Once we got to around 2 million exp each it'd be pretty much over, and with 5 it'll happen that much sooner. Nice thought though, any others?

[IMG] I have never and will never play SoA or ToB with a "multiplayer" party (unless it would be a "legit" multiplayer session with other players). It would quite simply be far too boring.

This does not mean that putting together the "ultimate" party is not interesting. It is. I think Arian's party is extremely good, possibly even the "ultimate" party. Diluting it with a skald or some other bard is a bad idea. Bards are mediocre in comparison. Also beware of including any single class characters - it's ToB we're talking about here! An Inquisitor and a Sorcerer are rare exceptions to this.

With a little editing, you could make your multiplayer party, excactly like a singleplayer one.

Create all the characters above. (pre-generate character)
    Start a game, save.
    Open Shadow Keeper.
Now open the out of party menu and select the people (personalities) you want in your party.
Let's say we want Minsc as our half-elf ranger/cleric. Scroll to Minsc and the ranger/cleric and start editing Minsc so that he'll be just like the R/C.
    Repeat with other characters.
Voila, you now have a multiplayer game, with partymembers that have a personality.

    About your party:
Very awesome! If I were you however, I'd replace the Inquisitor with a dualclass Wizardslayer(15)/Thief(38). This guy will also be able to wield carsomyr and be a much better mage-killer.
I would also add an archer. These guys are extremely cool. And I hear that bards can get more powerful than multiclass Fighter/Mages, but I don't really know about that.

Yeah Bards can get very powerful, but not till later, and they require a lot of prepping (tensers/misleads). I picked Inquisitor over Wizardslayer/Thief because he can weild Carsomyr earlier and has the kick ass dispel. Killing mages with this party wouldn't be a problem once their protections are gone. I don't really want an Archer just because with 4 very strong melee fighters another damage dealer with no special skills to add won't help much. As far as the guy who said use SK to make it a normal party, thanks but no thanks. I'd never actually play this party, it's just fun to think about. Any one of these characters could solo the game easy; putting them together is just insane.

A half orc fighter as the leader for some extra brute strenght, then a half elven ranger/thief using a bow and a longsword, a human cleric using a mace and shield, A halfling thief simply for his thieving skills(not much of a fighter), A human sorcerer for powerful offensive spells, and lastly a gnome wizard for defensive and summoning spells mostly!

Interesting party Kovalis but I must say I think mine is stronger. More brute strength, even if you do have a orc fighter, fighter levels become rather supurfluous later in the game. In my party 4 of the 5 can fight in melee and half of those melee fighters have major spell buffs (stone/iron skins mainly). Yours does have a bit more magery but mine can knock out mages like butter with the Inquisitor. IMHO, having most members being single classes makes it weaker. Multi is your claim to fame in ToB. The only multi you have is illegal, IIRC. Yours seems more realistic from a roleplaying perspective but as far as powergaming I think mine wins out.
