I found the most useful spell: Entangle
-->It can be combined with many area spells,
though it doesn't hold your chars(just equip them with ranged weapons when you are tangled.)
    Good vs Melee enemies.
The other one is web, which, I think is overpowered.
With it , you can kill anyone without any problem( just use some arrows of detonation on him), or if you don't have detonation, then just ice/acid/poison/fire
I think fire is the cheapest.

They're not really overpowered. They are very useful i agree but sas enemies can make saving throws against them to be able to still move it's not guaranteed so you can't plan battles on it working. Also with entangle enemies are still able to use missile weapons against you which is annoying. Aside from that they are very useful spells which do get used a lot :)

I almost never used entangle, web is very good, but not overpowered, I think, As Vermillion said, it's possible to make saving throws against them

[IMG] i must confess that i used entangle a lot against groups of enemies and then just got kivan to pick them off one by one. never really bothered with web, it seemed to affect my own party more than entangle ever did. I can't actually remember ever having entangle holding one of my own party memeber, at least not in BG1. It does it all the time in BG2+ and so is rather a redundant spell.

[IMG] Stinking cloud is the best spell to knock out enemies (IMHO). Don't remember which level it is though :p.
