[IMG] I'm going through BG again, this time with a Multi Class fighter mage.... I started to try a run with a pure mage and something strange happened... the first plot movie describing the player character standing outside of Candlekeep was different than what I had ever seen, not it focused on Gorion's death at the hands of Sarevok and how the player wanted that kind of power. The video I had always seen had to do with paths through the woods and Gorion never died again.

Since then I have re worked another character, a fighter/mage, and have started over. I did, during creation accidentally set my alignment to Neutral Good. I Since altered it with a saved game editor (I didn't really want to sit around rolling stats for another hour) to neutral evil. My character has completed the Knoll stronghold quest and has immy, Khalid, Jahiera, and Dynahier in his party.... but when resting in the wilderness I got the same old movie and not the one I got as my mage. Is this because I began the game as neutral good and then changed it artificially? Do the different movies even have to do with alignment? Am I merely going crazy and there is no different movie?
    Thanks in advance

Yes, the movies change depending on (i'm not sure about this) either alignment or reputation. Your special abilities change accordingly. Lay on hands and strength against larlochs minor drain and horror.

I think in BG1 abilities are affected by reputation (as are movies), in BG2 abilities are alignment. Or it could be the other way round.

I wasn't aware of this. What differences are there in the movies for the different alignments?

The good story urges you towards a strange feeling you've been encountering lately (bhaal's blood) but that you take strength from Gorion and others. Bhaal is trying to get a hold of you especially with line like 'You will learn'

The evil story kind of engulfs you in this new feeling and embrace the heritage you've been given. For instance IIRC with the dagger of bone and the statue of mulahey, with the evil story you drive the dagger home. In the good you turn your back.

It's reputation in BG1 as I've recieved different abilities with the same person. I thought this was a very nice addition actually, giving you more depth if you choose the evil path than is often allowed. Only thing about particularly low Rep is darned flaming fist...
