Multi Class Help

Hey guys,

I just recently started SoA again and want to make a multi class. I choose a half-elf fighter with chaotic good and these stats: 18/95, 18, 18, 18, 4, 3. Now I leveled up to 9 and wanted to multi class to mage.

How do I do that again, I totally forgot it and am now irritated? I cant click the Dual-Class button in the character menu and when I level up I cant find anything. I finished the game already once several years back and forgot almost anything.

Some help would be very much appreciated! Yeah, I know that this question is actually pretty silly xD

Multiclass and dual-class are two very different things, as only humans can dual-class. Only half-elves, elves, halflings, half-orcs, etc can multi-class, and you can only do this during character generation (at the beginning of the game, yes).

To solve your dilemma you'll want to use an editor like Shadowkeeper, and change your fighter's race from half-elf to human.

 

Yes multi and dual class are 2 different things.

I prefer multi class because your character(s) keep getting better in more than 1 class but dual class is something only humans do in SoA and then they don't improve in the earlier class again.

I believe this is different from the current D&D practice but it is how the game works.

Granted if there is a thing to dual class from a fighter to, it is often a mage. Thus your mage gets much better weapons, armor, and-usually-hit points.

If you have fighter (or cleric) back in Baldur's Gate (pre SoA and are not using tutu) you can dual class from a fighter to a specialist mage-sadly not a wild mage-which can be worth it spellwise.

Though you miss out on many of the hit points, skills, and so on that come with leveling to lvl 9 prior to dual-classing (I generally have at 2nd or 3rd level which just gives you more weapon and armor selection).
