[IMG] I am thinking of trying a multiclassed monk/sorcerer. I just don't know whether it'd work.
They don't wear armor which suits both classes, and it'd help the weak armor class of the sorcerer.

    Any help gratefully received. :D

do you want your monk/sorcerer be able to fight unarmed? your sorcerer's lame unarmed attack bonus will degrade the monk's super unarmed attack bonus.

you don't want your sorcerer to fight? pushing the sorcerer's armor wouldn't help in a long run. yes, earlier in the game goblins seldom hit a monk but pass chapter 2 everything hits you. under hof mode, fighter dies at regular basis. so what's the point of giving a sorcerer a lttle armor class? on the other hand, take WIS and put in INT gives you more skill points each level. since bluff and diplomacy is already a class skill, plus sorcerer has high CHA, why not throw in some intiminate?

anyway, it is your game and i think you sould try your idea.

A monk-sorcerer is a good combo IMO, even though it is a little hard to ballance the stats for good performance. However - using expertise, bracers and other items you should easily be able to get a formidable AC, even without using robes (which unfortunately denies the monk's AC bonus). I found the monks evasion to help a lot and the fast movement was a very welcome addition as well.

Besides, if you like your monk-sorcerer to be lawful-neutral or lawful-good you can edit in a different lawful alignment later - it won't affect mulitclassing.

Yes, as Ragusa points out, Evasion is very helpful and IMO the best reason for multiclassing with a Monk. I think one Monk level is quite enough. Why would you want more?
The only other option that I consider remotely good would be a few levels as Sorcerer, to get a some select spells like Mirror Image, and then focus on Monk.
A Monk desperately needs to get to the higher Monk levels asap.

sorcerer\monk huh - with robes even evasion is denied - better take a rogue human with:
    str.10
    dex.18
    con.18
    int.3
    wis.9(to 10 later)
    cha.18
and multi it to sorcerer at lvl 3 or even lvl 5.it'll have more AC than monk since robes give mostly Generic AC which is stackable with anything include braces :D Drawback is no expertise feat but why need it just take rapid shot and use it as a sniper... All skill points of thief use to hide and move sliently.

I will try the monk/sorcerer combo. I am sure it will be interesting, although I haven't decided whether to concentrate as a sorcerer or a monk with some spells.
I am taking a Bard/Sorcerer along for the ride as the main spellcaster and backup healer/rogue. So the sorcerer/monk may be better suited as the latter, a monk with spells. :D

Will let you all know if it works out.

Probably go with a Drow, just for a little extra spice.
