Should we keep the Multiplayer Adventures forum or move all the threads out of it into the games' ow

  1. Keep it, it's good to have all the multiplayer issues gathered in one forum

We've made the Multiplayer Adventures forum some time ago in an effort to centralize all the multiplayer issues, connection problems, LAN setup questions, etc. common with the D&D games we cover.

In practice, hardly anyone posted about these issues directly in this forum, so nearly all such threads had to be moved to Multiplayer Adventures from the games' own forums. This is probably a good indicator that having a separate forum for such issues is counter-intuitive and possibly counter-productive. The question therefore is, should we keep moving all such multiplayer/online threads to the Multiplayer Adventures forum in an effort to make it easier to find threads about such issues, or do you think that it'd be better to just have them interspersed among the other game discussions in the games' own forums? This would make them harder to find among the rest of the game discussions, but more people would be likely to see and respond to the threads in the games' own forums shortly after they were posted.

Move threads for MP on games like IWD, BG, etc to their respective forums.

Turn Multiplayer Adventures into an MMO discussion section.

    Simples!

An MMO discussion section, in a site dedicated to RPGs? Bah! Bah I say! Next you know we'll be having a politics and religion discussion section.

I do think that the Online Discussion Adventure forum thing's use expired as the big NWN (ie. A Land Far Away) community here slowly died.

I say nuke it. If a new user has a question on how to play BG2 in Multiplayer mode, they'll look for the answer or ask their questions in the BG2 forums first.

80 views and only 4 votes... nobody cares or is the question unclear?

I don't think anyone really cares. To me, it makes more sense to include it in the game's own forum. Heck, I find that I am moving threads to the mutiplayer forum much more than looking at ones that have been started in there.

it's not really need i think, most questions wind up in orginal game threads, if you keep the forum than at least it should be somewhere near the bottom

anyway you could use a concept of graveyard which would be at the very bottom and you can put all dead forums there as subforums instead of deleting them

I say nuke it. I've always found it awkward to have a separate MP forum, personally. If I'm playing Baldur's Gate, whether single player or multiplayer, and have an issue, my natural inclination is to post in the forum for that game. Going to "some other forum" where supposedly the multi-player game gurus all hang out and distribute advice about all things multi-player, well a) it's just one more forum to have to worry about and b) we really don't have the sort of community where this approach makes sense or adds value.

You probably have better luck getting assistance on a BG2 MP issue, in the BG2 forum where people who love and know that game hang out.

Well, the general opinion on this matter is quite clear... thanks, everyone.

I'm sorry I'm late! :D It seems to be nuked. Which would have been my suggestion too. :thumb: People don't think: I'm playing a multipayer game and I've a problem with NWN, but rather "I'm playing NWN and I have trouble with a multiplayer game".

Yep, done and gone. I'd pass out tissues, but nobody seems to be crying.
