How exactly do ye start an mplayer game so ye can transfer it to sp later?
    What protocol do ye use?
    Thx.

[IMG] (a) Start a new MP game, create as many chars as you like and then simply save the MP game. You´ll find it then in the "mpsave" folder. Simply copy it to the "save" folder and open it in a single player game. That´s it.

    (b) IIRC it doesn´t matter which IP-Protocoll you use (I use TCP/IP for my Ethernet card uses this protocoll) since you just *host* the game when you start an MP game, for there is no other player joining the game you should not encounter any networking problems.

    Good fun!

Use the serial port as your connection in multi-player mode. You can create your party and stay and play in mp mode with this option. Your saved games are placed in the mpsave folder. You can move your save game file to the save folder and play in single player mode if you want, but why bother.

I'm not sure of the other options, TCP/IP I thought was for playing online.

The aggravation is having to ck off the characters that you want to use each time you load your saved game...but that's not really too big a deal. Importing new characters if necessary is alot easier in mp mode.

I agree. I've played in mp mode all the time in both of my bg2 games and have few complaints. It game does take longer to load because you have to select all the characters each time you start a game. And they seem to always get out of order so you have to change their party position each time you load. But otherwise, it's fine and importing your other pc's is a lot easier if you just stay in mp mode.

I've played with this briefly and found, for me at least, that if you choose a serial connection, it seems to be the least trouble. There's no additional imput needed from the game.

Also, the one time I tried this, it kept crashing the game when I imported my second character. I wondered if it was having a problem with importing a character with duplicate quest items in the inventory, but I didn't know. Finally, I opened up the import file in Shadowkeeper and removed the custum portrait and all inventory items (since they're removed at the start of the game anyway). After doing that everything worked fine.
