Does somebody know how do I pass the router's protections so I can create and join multiplayer games?

The easiest way is to put your computer in the DMZ, effectively bypassing the router's protection. Pretty much every router has this option.

Access your router's software (usually accessible via your browser on your IP), find the DMZ option, make sure your computer is selected (if there's more than one connected), and click the OK button. This is a very general how-to, but it should be more or less the same regardless of which router you have. You can also try reading your router's manual, which should describe the exact procedure for your router.

But keep in mind that if you do this, as well as drop your (software) firewall, your computer is wide open and unprotected.

Even if I did make screenshots for you, it wouldn't be any more useful than my text, since I'm sure you don't have the same kind of router as I do. Did you try reading the manual as I suggested? If you have a specific issue at some point I can help you out. Or you can try Googling for general guides on DMZ enabling... I seem to recall a site that had instructions on how to do it for dozens of router models...

    Edit: here it is: http://www.firewalling.com/routers.htm

Well, checking out what's stamped on the router (or on the label on the bottom side) should work...

Hmm... this doesn't solve the problem on the router's side, but here's a useful tip for anyone in the same situation: use Hamachi.

    Here

It creates a virtual local network. You get an IP address there as if on LAN and you can connect to the host using his Hamachi IP as the host IP as if on LAN.

Of course, this is for when everyone is using it. Won't let you bypass protections to join non-Hamachi games.

    still having problems here.

like i said earlier i configured my router rather easily, another friend (different from the one above)also managed to do the same but we still cant join each others games, "failed to join game' or whatever than message is. we have the ports all opened. would the fact that i have the asia/pacific version and he has the american version matter.

i dont think that is it because i had someone join my game, then leave, but the main thing is he joined, he didnt stay long enough for me to find out who he is or where he is from.

    any ideas anybody?
