I was just thinking to myself that I hadn't seen anyone here on SP who also plays IWD (1 or 2) on a LAN, and I wondered why?
Personally, that's what makes the game amusing for me, being able to venture out with a friend and slashing everything that comes our way... We even played IWD1 with three guys, each taking two characters...!
The original idea was to play NWN, but apparently there are so many multiplayer-restrictions! They even demand that you buy another copy of the game, even for in-house LAN-playing! That's pure robbery if you ask me!
So we started playing IWD, and it works like a charm... So my question is: Why are there so little people that play IWD on a LAN...?

My wife and I played IWD regularly on the LAN, until we switched to a wireless LAN... at that point, the game slowed down too much.

My gaming group multiplayed IWD2 and got as far as the goblin fortress. We gave it up to play NWN.

But yes, there's the problem--the fact that each person has to have a copy of the game. Kinda turns some people off to the whole idea.

I once LAN'ed through whole IWD and HOW with a friend of mine, now that was fun. I also tried a couple of times to meet some players online, but they always cheated when we started the game :o

Theese days i very rarely have the time, otherwise it would be nice to play online with some serious players from SP :D
