[IMG] This is a poem that I wrote ages ago when I had some er.. shall we say, extremist, views on well - everything.
    The punctuation is meant to be that way the format is;
    6 syllables,
    5 syllables
Feel free to comment on it, most of the views are no longer mine.

Through the eyes of a Cynic

    Now imagine a world,
    no hope and no love
    Not even a glimmer,
    that white of a dove
Where all is a black and,
    impersonal void
    No free thought or thinking,
    a life as a droid
    Where government rules or,
    those with more power
    Loyalties change by the,
    minute or the hour
    Times ruled by a ruthless,
    unstoppable wheel
    When we are all shackled,
    our blood stains the steel

Who are we to turn to,
    who are we to trust
    We trust our emotions?,
    Our hates? Maybe lust?
For what are our wars then,
    if not tit-for-tat
    Maybe somebody else,
    who does this for that
    To another someone,
    they do decry it
They then call all their hands,
    to arms! we fight it!

    Resolution needed,
    all man the tables
    All peaceably settled,
    now we are able
    To pick up the pieces,
    the lives that were lost
    Like dawn in the winter,
    sparkling with new frost
    Optimism beckons,
    fools to their folly
    Pessimism dies then,
    all are for 'jolly'
    But just you remember,
    when this is again
    History can repeat,
    it matters not when.

I like it and some of questions asked aren't that extremist or unrealistic at all. Sounds like to yield to the despair about what is going on in some places of the world.

    [IMG] Why thankyou Eaglearrow.
No the actual point of it was that

    1. People with the most power (or money) inescapably rule over others,

    2. The ultimate futility of wars caused by our "great" leaders refusing to learn from their predecessor's mistakes (which creates wars from their egos clashing),

    3. Said leaders that do not learn or refuse to acknowledge earlier mistakes and try to hope for the best are fools.
    4. An interesting quote that I had come across (don't remember where or who by) that partly inspired this poem.
It was the personal opinion of most people I knew(and my english teacher) that my views were rather extremist. To this day I still mock said people but I pity them for they didn't understand that I did it on purpose.
