    hey,
I just defragged my new computer for the first time and after doing this I cannot load any BG2 games, the game just disappears while its on the loading screen. no error message, its just gone. if anyone knows how to fix this I would be VERY gratefull.

[IMG] Maybe just COPY (not move!) your "save"-folder somewhere else and MOVE it back - this way the savegames are as a whole on your disk, not scattered due to defragmentation!

Maertyn, thank you VERY much, your suggestion worked! for the records, if this ever happens to anyone else make sure you delete your cache as well because that gets messed up too.

well, my game was working for a day or 2, and now...well, its not working again. Ive tried uninstall/reinstall keeping all my save games and override folder etc. and that didnt work either. Im gonna try deleting EVERYTHING and doing a full install from scratch, and maybe trying to import a few char files too. hope that works, I dont want to lose ALL my work. Wish me luck (of course, dont actually post wishing me luck cause tal or BTA will get pissed unless you put something else in your post :))

    UPDATE:
I have done a complete reinstall of the game deleting EVERYTHING and reinstalling it. and it wont even let me start a new game with a totally new char. this looks to be the end of my escapades within the Baldurs Gate series. It was fun, I think Im just gonna go and buy arcanum today. Ill still occaisionally post here, but Ill prolly be posting much more on the gamebanshee forums (they have an arcanum board)
