[IMG] In amaunators corrupted temple, on the statue where you recite the 3 rituals, there is a treasure container on its eye (hold tab to see) but when you go to click on it, it only comes up with the dialogue mouse pointer. I tried CTRL + Y on the sucker, but after hitting about 50 times with 1149 damage, i took the hint that it wasnt going to die. Has anyone been able to access the treasure. And if so, what is in it?

    Cheers

Go out of the screen, so that the area is fogged. You should then be able to highlight it and take, I think, a diamond.

You can kill the statue by casting Contagion continously to sap all of its STR, (and hope it fials its saving throw) or shapechange into a mindflayer to suck all its INT, or cast Level Drain spell lots of times. Or control a vampire with an evil cleric to have her suck all levels of the statue. These are the only ways to kill it, ofcourse, then you may be very well stuck if you haven't done the quest.

If you think a diamond is worth all the trouble and risk, go for it. ;)

There's a diamond in it. Here's how to get it without getting injured.

Make it safe for your thief to be by him/herself. Put your party in the room where you get the chewed bones. Have your thief Find Traps at the statue. When the trap highlights, walk away until the fog of war hides the statue (the trap will still be visible). Click on the Open Locks button so you get the wheel thingy and click on the still red outline. The thief will go over and unlock it. Do the same method with opening it.

Why did the game designers make it so hard to obtain? And you think it has something really good or unique.

And, what is a diamond doing there anyway? Wouldn't a sunstone or similar gem make more sense? Just my two cents.

Actually in the fully unpatched version of the game it wasn't that hard to obtain. It's some kind of wierd side affect to having the patches completely up to date.

I got it the first few times I played the game and then gave up after I had reinstalled and patched my game later on and tried.

but then in the completely unpatched game I'd also opened up all of the shadow barriers but still had to go around the second one to get the right item to open it.
