So it's that time of year again where the US college football teams head to the "bowls". Most of the bowls have already been played, and on Jan 1st, The Rose Bowl, Fiesta Bowl, Cotton Bowl, Outback Bowl, Gator Bowl, Capital One Bowl, were played...and the outcomes are already known to all interested, but there are still 2 more bowls to be played...the Sugar Bowl and the Orange Bolw.

Now with all that out of the way...were any of you SPers watching any of those games, and do you plan on watching either of the two bowls that have yet to be played? Also, which teams were/are you rooting for?

As for me, I was kind of rooting for Utah State University...just because Utah sucks in general, so when anything above the average pops up, I tend to support it...to a certain extent. Now for the Orange Bowl, I'll be rooting for USC, because I was planning on going to USC if my parents would have backed me up. I still wish I could go there.
    Go USC! :rolling:

It doesn't get any coverage whatsoever downhere, which is really a shame.

Are there less commercials in the college American football than in the superbowl?

Bah, american football could be a great tv sport if they ever *played* the game! 5-10 seconds worth of play for every 5-10 minutes of dead time is dreadful.

I really like the game when they are playing it, sadly it is quite rarely. :(

I have to agree with joacqin here. American Football would be nice watch if there weren't so many commercial brakes during the game. I once tried to watch superbowl when it was aired in here and got very frustrated with the brakes.

The thing with the Super bowl is that all the commercial are usually VERY funny...Last year I watched it for the commercials! Some of the best commercials are aired for the first time during the super bowl! :thumb: :rolling:

You should have asked "why'd they call it football" instead. :D
