[IMG] While playing BG for the second time, I have not started out with a cleric this time. Allthough not needed so much in the beginning, healing spells could prove useful as the story goes. Where can I find descent clerics? I do not want any multi-class shit, or evil allignemt people.

[IMG] Not much choice for you. Either you take Branwen, she's "stoned" at the Nashkel Carnival, or you wait for Yeslick to meet in the Cloakwood Mines Lv 2. They are both good clerics but Branwen has a neutral alignment and will start complaining if your reputation is near 20.

I allready think I have created a problem. My party consists of my paladin, Imoen (neutral good), Minsc (neutral good) and Kagain (lawful evil). I think Kagain may create some trouble, but for now he only complaints about the lack of beer. :D

More allignment trouble is not needed. I go for Yeslick and Dynaheir to fill up the two free spaces in my party.

Only problem with that is whether or not you can wait until Cloakwood mines for a cleric. Branwen's a decent substitution until you reach there. You also said u didn't want a multi-class cleric and Yeslick's a Fighter -Cleric. Not too much of a problem by this stage of the game I guess though. This is all assuming you've dumped Jaheira somewhere who I think is probably better than either Branwen or Yeslick, albeit that she's a druid.

Jaheira is lame. She was in my party for like 5 minutes. Then I couldn't stand neither her or Khalid anymore. They look and talk ugly. Both of them. Wonder how I kept going the whole last round with Khalid as my main fighter...

Hmmm...methinks because he kicks ass as a main fighter. Yeah, ok, he's whinny. I'll agree, and he's annoying. But he had outstanding ac and grandmastery using defender. Minsc is fine, but not nearly as good. Everyone likes him, as do I. But head up later in the game, Khalid will kill most anyone easily. Definately the tank to go for. Course Kaigan was probably better, but then he's also very evil...so eventually he'll probably leave or start hacking away at the rest of your party.

[IMG] It's true, Khalid is good. Honestly. I really used to hate his whiney, goody two shoes, oh-my-god-there's-a-kobold-I'm-gonna-run attitude but check his stats and they're hard to knock. Give him the gauntlets of ogre power later on and he truly kicks some butt. PLUS unlike Minsc or Kivan or whoever he gets to specialize majorily in large swords. Which is nice.

As for Jaheira all I can say is that when tanked up with a meaty staff/scimitar, a decent sling and her shapechanging (ok it's not that useful but looks cool) and call lightning capabilities, she rocks. And druids are cooler than wussy clerics anyday. Maybe.

Jaheira is a snotty b-t-h, and she just gets worse in BG2.

In BG2, she's pretty potent with the revamping of the druid class, but in BG1, she was just an aggravation.

Jahiera stayed turned to stone in BG and I wish the game designers had left her that way in BG2, would have made Khalid a little more mean natured with Jahiera murdered don't you think? Anyway, she is usefull in BG2, very much so in fact, but she is still a pain in the ass...just in a differnt way. Her spells absoloutly sucked in BG, though she can be a pretty good fighter and healer with the right equipment of course. My preference of course is Quayle, but then he's multiclassed. Oh well...can't please em all.

It's a long time since I played but isn't Yeslick a Fighter/Cleric and the man wanted no 'multi-class shit'. If Multi class is OK then there is also Quayle (mage/cleric) who I think was near the bridge into Baldurs Gate (though he may not be available until later in the game). Similar goes for Tiax who I think is a Cleric/thief in Baldurs Gate.

Back to pure clerics and there is the lovely Viconia (in Peldvale). Of course she is evil which goes against your anti-evil people stance. Though as you already have one evil person, is it such a problem. Don't forget there are ways of reducing your reputation such as stealing.

I played with a dwarven cleric the last time, so that was out of the question. Wanted to try something else.

it keeps getting more moronic with ever word I read....

On another note entirely, Branwen is fine, I used her both times I played through the game. First as a Fighter, second as a FMT, she comes in handy, I used a similar party both times through and they worked fine.
    Battery
    Imoen (When i was a FMT I D'ed to a mage)
    Ajantis
    Kivan
The mage in the Gnoll Stronghold (can't remember her name)
    and Branwen.

It changed a bit through both plays, but not much, I think that is a well balanced combination.

personally i believe that Branwen is a very good cleric and i always use her as the druid women in the cloakwood is a little too "evil" for me (sorry forgotten the name)
The one advantage about having a pure druid is that in bg they can get to a much higher level than clerics (level 11 i think) and therefore cast a larger and higher range of spells.

[IMG] Yeslick was my favorite NPC in BG. I think I'm one of the only folks who thinks he's the greatest!

He was one of my most favourite NPCs as well, Orkrist. Great character and just a fine dwarf.

[IMG] Once you get past the Cloakwood Mines, Yeslick is the cleric of choice.
