Allright, so I've played through NWN with an Arcane Trickster and a Cleric/Warpriest (currently doing the expansion with my Cleric/Warpriest but I wanna make it last ;) ) and I've also played quite far on diffrent builds, Ranger/Rogue/Assassin amongst others.

I figured I've had both the Rogue and Wizard experience, as well as the Divine caster and tank experience. So my issue is - what to play now that feels new?

I would welcome any tips for interesting builds and/or role-playing aspects of diffrent classes (since even a plain fighter can get interesting with some background story).

Have you tried an unconvetional fighter? IE: polearms, throwing weapons or bows?

Fighters can get good with any style of play or just be strong all around. I'd try going that route.

If not, then maybe look at playing a druid. They are a mix of magic and physical damage. A lot of useful spells for disabling opponenets so you can thrash 'em, or hit them out of range of their attacks.

Thanks for the replies. I think I'm gonna go with either a Sprit Shaman (instead of Druid since I like the Charisma based casting better) or a Warlock build, since I've never tried the class myself.

Any tips for a good Warlock build? I was thinking Fighter 4 / Warlock X to get some melee power into it, mayby add extra Fighter levels in MotB.

Any other tips are welcome ofc :)

If you go warlock I'd say maybe try out Eldritch Knight? I don't know how well those 2 actually work out together, but it does give +1caster level every level passed the first.

Maybe someone can give better info on if it's a good idea or not.

Hm, so I've more or less decided on going

    Neutral Evil Drow, worships Velsharoon.

    Str 14
    Dex 12
    Con 14
    Int 12
    Wis 10
    Cha 18

    Fighter 4 / Warlock 12 / Eldritch Knight X.

As far as role-playing goes, the first four fighter levels are from the beginning of the game where he's forced out into the world with little training (pretty standard).

After battling countless of undeads and even a shadow priest, charname starts to take interest in necromancy. At the end, after much studying, charname's capable of combining his fighting past and necromantic presence into perfection.

    Something like that.

The only problem is that Warlocks gain 3rd lvl casting at lvl 12 which is pretty high. That'll only give me two or three levels of Eldritch Knight in the OC.

I could skip the four levels of Fighter I guess, but it gives alot of nice feats and proficiency with everything except Exotic Weapons.

With the expansion a nice roleplaying choice is to have a fire genasi 20 barbarian - 10 frenzied berserker. Speak about hot blooded.
