Need help on liches!

It seems that liches are almost invinsible. I just encountered an elemental lich to get Kangaxx's torso and i can't kill him! He's really damn hard he casts mostly deadly spells and I keep losing...any tips on killing liches?

 

I just took down the litch in the gate district. Not too bad but it was a close fight and I lost Minsc and Ariee. I had three mages, 1 cleric, and 1 druid all casting all types of spells at him. The best thing I can tell you is to have all types of defensive spells and offensive spells ready. However, to be honest I don't think these did a ton of good. They helped some though. I managed to outlast his defenses, then I took him down hand to hand.

 

Dispel his invisbility and then breach his weapon defenses. Then rush him with everything. Works on almost every mage, including liches.
Don't let them get the Time Stop out or else though...

 

No! he is somewhat invincible! The offensive spells doesn't seem to work! and I used all of the defensive spells already. And the weapons that work are only the +3 and above weapons, I only have 3 of them...

 

For the Elemental Lich, I have a rather specific strategy. The elemental lich ALWAYS casts Meteor Strike, Time Stop, Protection from Evil, and Gate(lvl 9 summon demon spell). Cast Breach, then Dispel Magic to remove his Protection from Evil. That way, the VERY powerful demon attacks his summoner. Both start going at it, neither making much headway. The lich summoned an Efreeti, all was at an impasse. In the meantime, I snuck out of the place, ran to an inn, rested, came back. However, the lich then promptly cast Meteor Strike, Prot. from Evil, and Gate. Or tried to. I was prepared for it, and interrupted his spellcasting before he could finish Gate. My main character this time, a Fighter-Thief, and Minsc and Viconia were all Mazed, but Edwina, Anomen w/ his Flail of the Ages, and Jaheira managed to finish the lich off.

 

bah thats no fun! death spell if your friend. kills summoned guys in 1 shot, just keep his protection magics dispelled and breach and lower resistance, from there hes still pretty though, but you shouldnt have to run away this way.

 

If you can get it, get carsomyr(+5 two-handed sword) it's dispel effects take down a liches defenses. ( it can be found on the Red Dragon ). This may just give you more work though! Otherwise memorize his spawning location and surround him with fighters as he rises. Attack until he get up Protection from Magic Weapons, then disperse your group. Hit him with Breach, Pierce magic, secret word ect... then melee attack again. works all the time.
