I'm trying to put some programs on my calculator using the software that came with it, but when ever I try to send/receive, an error message pops up that says "Can't open the Communications Port", I tried all com ports, and it still does't work. I'm using Win2K Pro, with the black link cable. Please help! :rolling:

    Hmmmm.

I have a Ti86 and Ti89. Both came with a little 3-conductor 1/16" cable to connect to other calculators. I understand there's a serial cable you can buy to hook into your computer. It's been a while since I used the 86 (thought I lost it, then found it), so I only know how to link up the 89's and 92's. The 86 is compatible with the 81's through 86's, but not the 89's and above.

Did you buy that serial cable? Have you got your serial port turned on in the os and bios? And on the calculator, is there a message to the effect of "Waiting to receive"?
