    How do the Neutral alignments affect gameplay?
    I'm now playing a Priest of Helm and I've never played a neutral before so please tell me.

    Umm... I don't think they do at all? It'll affect the strongholds perhaps?

    It's a role playing aspect but as far as I know it doesn't have any other bearing than how you decide to play your character because of it.

    Not much affect on the game, other than you can get the good and evil quest decisions. Embarl and Marcus, for examples. :evil: :angel:

    Your alignment will determine your initial reputation. Other than that there is no effect on gameplay.

    Yep you can play however you want and unless you are a paladin there will be little consequence for your alignment.

    There might be some equipment you may or may not be able to use?

    The most obvious difference is the one as Thor said, the solution to your stronghold quest must be neutrally oriented rather than good or evil.

    Only if you're a cleric - if you don't give the good answers in the Lathander temple, the neutral answers in the Helm temple, and the evil answers in the Talos temple, you lose your stronghold. Other than that it has absolutely no effect on gameplay.

    I think once you turn into the slayer if you were lawful good you become neutral and if you were chaotic good or other you become evil. I was the slayer and I never used it but I turned from CG to evil.

    @Chris DC:
    That has to do with the Hell Trials.

    *sigh* the one downside to BG2 is that alignment really means nothing, except for a little reputation bonus in the beginning. They should have made set paths for all three, not just good and evil.

    There's not even "just good and evil" paths. The "evil path" in most cases is you say something rude to the person who gives you a quest and then do the quest the exact same way anyway.
