Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault from Obsidian Forums. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    Binary File Format (GFF?)
Yes, we are still using the GFF format.

    Elevators or moveable platforms?
The z axis is so... 20th century. Ancient technology. The NWN2 engine has the K Axis. Take that, Oblivion!

It's unlikely that you'll even have/need/want to mess with the source file directly as you should be able to make any tweaks and changes to the particle system in the toolset.

    TES 4: Oblivion
Bioware is not making NWN2...we Obsidian are. ;)

    Ferret Baudoin, Lead Designer

Why don't writers get any love?
I think part of the problem with a pure "writer" on a team would be that what makes for a fascinating and riveting book doesn't always equal fun gameplay. Designer know what's fun and how to frame a situation that is hella cool to play through. There's nothing saying a writer can't have a good sense of fun gameplay, but someone being blessed with talents in both of those will be rarer.

I think that most (if not all) the designers on our team can write well, and at least one person I think could write novels and such (just my opinion). And all of the designers know how to make something fun. So don't worry.

    When will this be out?
It's already out... Been on the shelf for days... Hee hee - just look in your local computer game store behind every single box. It might be hiding there. Hee hee.

OK - maybe just read the FAQ. :)

    Sponaneous Casting Versus Prepared.
Until a feature is in the game and the team can see it, everything is just plans and probability. With that caveat, switching out spellbooks and spell organization is something we have plans to improve upon. So rejoice. :)
