    Brian D. Lawson, Programmer

    Question!!! Please answer...

...but after all these years where it would have been possible to implement (according to the industry), it still almost non exist.
Then clearly there must be a good reason as to why it's not widely used. Right? I mean an industry as large as this surely wouldn't blindly turn its back on something so "easy" and "practical" to use? Right? Maybe because often times things are "hyped" to be something they just really aren't. Sooner or later people...especailly the developers who have to work with this technolody everyday...figure these things out.

    Water Color

Edit: Now I'm not trying to tell people to shut up. What I was trying to refer to were the ones that will not let an issue go. We can all feel the need to blow some steam as it happens; we should just try to gey over it. :)
I hear ya loud and clear. AND I agree!

    The looks!

Brian... where are you man? I gotta get some tiny little answer here... Im sure Im not the only one waiting with this topic under my topics.... any hint to what I just mentioned above?
You won't be able to fatten up or slim down certain areas of a character (there are technical reasons for this). However, character scaling will be in along with a few other...what I like to think...are nifty little things to help "customize" a character. That's about all I can say for now. ;)

    Ferret Baudoin, Lead Designer

    Development Team
Whenever we put up a design job opening we get a flood of seriously qualified candidates. Sadly, the handful of female applicants we've received (so far) haven't made the list of finalists. It's extremely competitive and getting into final consideration is a pretty impressive feat.I know that many game companies would give women far more preferential hiring criteria. I think women actually have an advantage in getting into this industry - it's just for whatever reason, they don't.Here's my random theory. Most people in the game industry really want to be here. Practically everyone could have better paying, less-stressful, and shorter hour gigs elsewhere. Which means you generally have to love games to work at a game company. So for more "hard-core" games the people that apply at a game company generally fall into the same demographic as the customers that purchase their games. And in the marketplace most game genres are male dominated (heavily so, I believe). This theory also would explain why Maxis is able to attract a far more equitable gender-ratio, btw. The Sims is one of the few games out there which bridges the gender gap./end morning speculation

    An Emotional Game
I like emotional games, too. What you want is close to our internal design goals for the story. Only time will tell how well we hit the mark.-Ferret

Have the Tutorial have its own module
/begin caveatDon't take this as gosphel, because tutorials often go through many revisions./end caveatThe tutorial as designed right now is skippable. The only thing you'll miss out is some background info that isn't required for the story, but can make the intro a little cooler. Play it once, though, and you're good to go.Subject to change without notice, valid in 40 of the continental United States. Do not taunt Happy Fun Ball. :)

    no Timestop?
One thing to note - even if Timestop was in the game we'd follow the 3.5 rules of it. Which isn't as powerful as the 3.0 version. Please don't resent us devs - trust me, we're trying to deliver the best, most fun game possible in the time allotted. :)
