I trully hope Obsidian keep we, the world makers, in mind when developing NWN2. NWN1 was already great, but a new game with better graphics and more ways to customize your own modules would be a dream coming true.
And I think you'll be quite pleased in this regard. You'll be getting a brand new toolset and rendering engine...both built from the ground up with the intentions of addressing as many "issues" from the past as possible, while providing you the end user with as much flexibility (within reason) as possible. Like I said before, we're not building our own version of 3D Studio Max. But we do want to provide you guys with the ability to customize as much as possible, yet make those customization efforts as easy as possible. ;)

Difference between pixel shader 2.0 and pixel shader 3.0
I didn't read the posted link...but from your response it sounds like you got what I'm about to tell you anyway. At the moment, both the 2.0 and 3.0 pipelines "appear" visually to be identical. However, under the hood the 2.0 pipeline has to do a lot more work to achieve the same results that the 3.0 pipeline can achieve with a lot LESS work.As you know, at this moment ATI does not have a 3.0 card out. However they should be announcing their next gen card soon (like before the end of the month supposedly). That aside, some of their top end 2.0 cards...mainly the X800 series are quite fast and have a lot of fill rate. So in a way that "kind" of (but not quite) makes up for the lack up 3.0 support. Without getting into hardcore tech details that's about all I can say at this time.

A menagerie of questions not yet answered

The sky IMO is 'open' and not just a overly, and the moon/sun are real objects moving across this area/sky. Of course this is speculation on my part, but that was the impression I was left with after reading all the quotes on the topic.
    I'll confirm this.
