Since I'm in a good mood, I'll just answer as honestly as I can. :)

There are unfortunately no plans on when an official NWN2 site is released, but the closest thing to it, is NWN2 News site. We have here an gallery containing most released screenshots for registered users as well as a heavily updated list of Frequently Asked Questions(FAQ). Enjoy.
Huh ... what? Fulgore, there is *clearly* a NWN2 web site placeholder at http://www.atari.com/nwn2, and I'm certain Obsidian and Atari have plans on when it will be opened up to the waiting public, we just don't know what those plans are. That said, nwn2news is a very good site, and highly recommended.
J is right...and it should be "soon".

    Spell icons, weapons icons, etc.

I believe there were quite a few people - myself included - who were not particularly impressed by the icons representing armor and weapons in the original NWN. They looked kind of plastic and toy-ish. Avarage, at best. But far from realistic and far from the examples that were set by the sourceart.

It was basicly the same for the spells, skills and feats icons. They were functional, and they got the job done. But they were far from spectacular. And the fact that all the spell icons had the same color - instead of different colors for the different schools of magic, like in the Infinity Engine titles - could be confusing.

Now, in my opinion, Black Isle did a very good job with both the armor and weapons icons in Icewind Dale II. And the spellicons were just plain AMAZING...

So, what I'm wondering about is: What direction is Obsidian taking with the icons for NWN2? From what we've heard and seen so far they seem to be aiming for a more realistic and more classic look and feel for the game - which I think is GREAT - so what's gonna happen in the icons department? Will you be leaning more towards the original NWN, or IWD2?

Hope one of the devs can shed some light.

I believe most of the icons from the Black Isle games you mentioned were created by our very own Brian Menze, and yes, they look fantastic.

Look for something very similar in our final game.
