    Cut up the 2DA please

2DA files have nothing to do with XML. We are using XML for some stuff including the GUI. I hope that clears things up.

Argh. Just went to two different bookstores over lunch, and couldn't find it on the shelves. The hunt is on!

Well, it's finally out. Check your local Border's or Barnes and Noble (or whatever) if you want to take a gander at the screenshots.
    Did you see them yet?

    More:
Yes I did. I've never thought that the screenshots in magazines did real justice to the games depicted. Nonetheless this game is looking very impressive indeed. I am hoping to see toolset screenshots soon and maybe hear a little more about the height-map system that is being used (as well as everything else that we have been begging to hear about, of course).
Would you mind giving a description of the shots for the rest of us? Even we here at the studio haven't seen which ones were selected (out of the batch that was submitted) for the release of the article. Thanks. Edit: P.S. We're just as excited about this as you guys are.

    More: Thanks for the description.

    More:
Well I dont believe it but Obsidian do you reconsie the screens he described? So then we know if he is liein or not.
Yes, so far the description is accurate.

    Review of screen shots...

#1 <skips the dragon screen because I don't know if its a screenshot or not>
No really, you can go ahead and review it too...since it's straight from the game (I assure you!). hanks for the post.

    More:
Compare the head and body types to NWN dragons etc. Thanks... Niz
I don't think there IS any comparison...You'd probably have to see it to understand exactly.

NWN2 and D&D Movie This Weekend

I liked it. It could have been for any of several reasons:

I was a bit sick, and not altogether 'there'.
I had amazingly low expectatinos because of the first movie.

But rather, I would like to think that I liked it because it was earnest, serious, and at least well thought out.

The special effects were 'ok', being of TV movie quality.
The characters in the 'party' we intersting and I actually was concerned for them - more so that I was in the first movie where I was actively rooting for thier death.

There was actual thought put into elements, such as the mirror and the hallway portion. I will say no more for fear of spoiling it.

I would watch it again. I didn't like it enough to OWN it, buit I would definitely watch it again.

On my bad movie scale, where:

    1 is Dracula 3000
    5 is Frankenfish
    10 is Serenity

    I would give DnD2 a 6.0.
