    Review of screen shots...

The graphics engine being 'changed' is codework for being 'update' as far as I'm concerned. No techie babble is gonna trick me. And, the link shared by a certain someone last page backs me up if you read closely what Obsidian wrote.

Aurora is being used by NWN2; but the graphics part is being 'changed' (codework: updated).

    R00fles!

Either way, the graphics look pretty cool thus far. That's all that matters. Then again, NWN1's graphics are still pretty cool as far as I'm concerned. Blockiness a side, of course.
Just to inform you guys so there is no more debate over these things.

'Aurora' (the graphics portion of the NWN1 codebase) has been completely removed from the NWN2 project. It's been replaced with 'Electron' (the NWN2 graphics engine), which was completely written from scratch. Most of the NWN1 client and server game code is still around in some shape or form, but we have modified/upgraded almost all the internals of major systems. So the correct term is that we 'vastly improved' the game engine and we have 'completely replaced' the graphics and toolset.

BTW - Thanks for all the compliments on the screenshots. I actually don't think those screenshots do the game justice, and the stuff we are cooking up now is even better. And just remember, we are giving you the tools to make these kinds of awesome worlds/screenshots with great ease. :)

    About the curbs: :)

    1. Curbs are not attached to buildings.
    2. Curbs are not part of the street.
    3. Curbs are curbs.

Not much on combining the two, but it looks like the outlook is good for it happening.
    Agreed.

    How's that? Comments?
Yes, I have a comment. Nothing is EVER as easy as it sounds. Especially on these boards. Anyway, I applaud the effort and in all seriousness, maybe it's NOT that hard to implement. But, I think the final word was spoken some time ago regarding coinage with weight... ;)

Maybe I'm asking for too much - hehe!
    You are...for sure!

Will Obsidian make BG III, Planescape II and IWD III using the NWN2 Engine?

I don't know about making the games asked about in the title of this thread...

But, by all means this engine would be reuseable for "something else". Normal maps have nothing to do with it really.

Is that dragon shot an actual in play shot or that of a cutscene or intro movie?
    In game.
