Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    NWN2: RPG OR MMORPG?
    1. No released screenshot so far has had any tiles whatsoever.

    2. The maximum 'playable' area is still 32x32. However we are handling stuff very differently from the first game. In general the areas feel much larger than the first game.

    3. RPG all the way. :)

    PC Gamer screens online!

Speaking of lighting...Window Lights: Like all CRPG's there were posts regarding having the lighting from inside the buildings coming through the window. I don't think this is something that will be happening with NWN2.
It's already done. It's just not in any of these screen shots. You'll see it in future shots, I'm sure.

Thanks for the positive posts you guys/gals. Of course we hope you've enjoyed what you've seen. We actually have lots more shots that weren't released, but that's always the way it goes. I assure you that you'll eventually be seeing more.

Also keep in mind that the game improves daily/weekly/monthly and that while these shots are the most recent public showing, things have likely improved since they were taken.

We'll try to provide answers when and where we can about things you may see. I guess the easiest way to answer questions is simply with more screen shots, but we aren't cleared for that yet. And as soon as we are, you guys will be the first to know.

    Review of screen shots...

Just to remind those that are wondering about the scale of that dragon... there appears to be a tree under the wing on the left side of the pic. And they are scaleable... so how big do you really want it?! ;)
That dragon is absolutely HUGE! Thanks for the positive feedback guys/gals!!

    Screenshots HERE!!

I won't take any screens for the real ones, until I see a Dev. confirming them...
    They're real.

    Review of screen shots...

Most of the NWN1 client and server game code is still around in some shape or form, but we have modified/upgraded almost all the internals of major systems.(/quote)

...What about the basic file formats, like ERFs, GFFs, et al.?
    We still have GFFs.

    We still have ERFs.

    We still have 2DAs.

    Review of screen shots...

Oh, you mean because I called it the Update Aurora Engine? That's not trolling either sorry even if you disagree. The could call it the Electronic Neutron Engine. It's still the Aurora Engine at its core.
    100% false.

No element or trace element of the Aurora Graphics Engine remains...at ALL. This is not an update, or a tweak or whatever. I cannot be any more clear on this.

If you are trying to make a point because some of the server and client side elements of the game do remain, and thusly Aurora remains, you are wrong. None of those elements are used in the drawing/rendering of the game. Aurora is NOT the same thing as the server or the client.

    I'll try one more example:
    NWN1 has :
Aurora (renders the game AND the GUI)
    Client
    Server

    NWN2 has:
Electron (brand new, renders the game AND the GUI)
    Client (heavily modified)
    Server (heavily modified)

    ps.
    Witcher looks awesome.
