Here are today's Neverwinter Nights 2 forum highlights, collected by NWVault. Please take into account that these are only single parts of various threads and should not be taken out of context. Bear in mind also that the posts presented here are copied as-is, and that any bad spelling and grammar does not get corrected on our end.

    SLI Hardware Support
SLI is supposed to "just work". There is nothing in particular that we really need to do in order to allow for it to work. There are a few things that devs "shouldn't" do in general that can be problematic. However, all of our rendering techniques will scale nicely with SLI.

    NWN2 on a Laptop

Now that Obsidian has opened the can-o-worms on Computer requirements, I was wondering if anyone from Obsidian has tried NWN2 on a laptop or what would be needed to do so. I would really like my next CPU to be one, but not if I can't play NWN2 on it. Money's no object so what would a laptop have to be to run NWN2?
We've demoed NWN2 on a laptop with a 6800 GT in it and it runs just fine. That will cost you. But as you said, money is of no concern.

    More:
While I understand there is going to be a performance hit compared to a desktop CPU, there are many reasons why a laptop would benefit me.
There doesn't need to be. I've heard talk of laptops soon to come with 7800 GT/GTXs.Oh yeah, and the laptop that we demo on is also a widescreen with the game running in widescreen resolutions. ;)

Are slow boring sucky parts of the story necessary?
I doubt that any game developers is deliberately trying to bore their players. But designers do want vary the pacing of the game. Sometimes lulls are good emotional breathers to prep you for the next high-energy sequence. And people have different tastes so lulls could easily equal boredom for some folks.I think it would be possible to make a game that never let up - but thinking of a game the length of an RPG have that frenetic pace every step of the way sounds exhausting to me. Both as a consumer and as a designer.
