    question for graphics programmers
I'm a little unclear about exactly what you mean by "importing" cel-shaded assets... typically, "cel-shading" is a rendering process, not type of asset. So... I think the short answer you're looking for is, no, we're not likely to have any kind of cel-shaded anything in NWN2 because it just doesnt fit into the style of kind of game that is NWN2. I dont think we could justify the effort at this point. You'll certainly be able to use your own custom texture maps for whatever you want, but replacing texture maps alone will not give a true cel-shaded effect.

    Area Testing in new Toolset?

Thanks for that. Although I thought the new toolset (Electron) was a complete re-write so in theory, it could have been done then.
Electron refers specifically to the new rendering engine (written from scratch) which the new toolset (also written from scratch) sits on.However, that's for rendering only. Since we're still using the remaining gameplay portion of the old Aurora engine it was not feasible to implement what you are asking about into the toolset. So, in theory it could not have been done. Thanks.

    More:
You mean, in practice, it could not have been done. In theory, anything can be done...
    And your point?

    Improved Aurora in NWN2?

To be honest that supposedly leaked NWN2 screenie doesn't hold a candle to the onces I've seen from The Witcher. The human proportions seems off and the detail low. Adding photo realism for character images is a bad idea as it breaks with the amateurish crayon drawings of the main screen. If that picture is an accurate representation of the current state of NWN2 graphics, then it is obvious Obsidian still has a long way to go before the game is anywhere near ready for release. Alpha or no.
Did you read what I said literally 3 posts up? It was a complete hoax that in no way, shape, or form represents NWN2. ;)
