The folks at IGN recently visited Obsidian's offices to check out how Neverwinter Nights 2 is coming along, and they came back with a really long but really good preview. The preview takes you from the beginning of the story planned for NWN2 to all the amazing things the new toolset has to make module making much easier and better. Here's a quote from the preview:

"Obsidian wants players to begin the game as a nobody. Too many times, they say, RPGs thrust main characters into the position of being too important too early. At the beginning of the game, the main character will run into a person of importance and be ignored like any other lump of crap with legs. The powerful simply don't notice those weaker than themselves. It's this kind of philosophy that promises a more cohesive story. Obsidian wants realism in their fantasy and hope to achieve it by creating real reasons for events to take place and real consequences for actions taken."

This is a must-read for any fan of NWN! You can read the rest at IGN.
