    Premium Modules and Linux
Linux 1.65 English final is now available. http://nwn.bioware.com/support/patch.html Store is also updated with .zip files for download for those of you that cannot use the Windows .exe files. Yes, the Premium Neverwinter Nights Modules work with Linux. :)

    Patch 1.65 in spanish

yup, everytime there is an update foreign language games have to wait, yup yup, seems bioware sometimes just forget that there are game owners outside the USA
BioWare is in Canada. Not the USA.

Quote: and they usually do not respond quickly to this or this kind of threads, seen it a lot on previous updates, i guess they think we take more time to get to the pc because we´re on donkeys or something, there´s a lot of people pissed off at this happening EVERY DAMN TIME THERE IS AN UPDATE. hellooooooo bioware?! wake up, there are customers outside the "allmighty - update first cuz they´re our #1 buyers" countries too
You will have to speak to Atari Spain, as they are the ones that need to localize the files for us. We are waiting on them, usually. Regardless, the non-English versions of NWN will be coming out on Thursday.

    Buggy nwupdate.ne_ ?
Hi there. We failed to post the 1.23 version of the Updater for manual download. We are doing that now and it will be on the patch download page in about an hour. Sorry for the hassle.

    Very cool suggestion...hmm...

Premium module character builds (Spoiler Warning)
We want to do a Wednesday article on good choices for character builds for use in the premium modules to get the most out of them. I talked to the designers and for the most part they mentioned it is a good idea to have the ability to get all the dialogue choices by either having high Persuade or charm person. I want starting build (1rst level) for what people think is the best character to take through a specific module. I'll need a couple of things:

    1. The name of the premium module your character is created for.
    2. The name and character class or classes of your character when they start the module. Include some thoughts on how you would spend skills/ability points as you level-up pretty quick in all the modules.
    3. Why you think your character is the best character to adventure through the module you named.

    Example:

    1. Kingmaker
    2. Festilus- 2nd level Cleric, 1st level Fighter. He has a very high Persuation skill and besides Wisdom he concentrated on Charisma and Dex.
    3. I know that there is a special quest just for Clerics but I also know that having a high persuation gets me more dialogue options and I figured that with more dialogue options I could experience more of the game.

So post your thoughts here. I will pick out a few for each module based on three very strict things: coolness, super-flyness, vauge RPGness. I'll contact those folks and get more details for the Wed article.

    christmas present
Yeah, we definitely want to see more premium content and see it released more rapidly. We're taking steps to do that but module development takes time, as does the addition of VO and proper testing, etc. While this initial wave has done well, it hasn't done so phenomenally well that we can start pulling designers from Jade Empire and Dragon Age yet. ;) Our hope had been to get 1.1 patches for the premium modules out this week as a bit of a Christmas present but there were a handful of issues still outstanding so we've decided to hold onto them until the New Year. Meanwhile, work continues on the next premium module. It'll come,

Funniest moment in an NWN game...
The funniest moment for me was when I played a semi-functional robot on Neverwinter Connections, teamed up with a wenching bard. We got into an argument over the use of wine; I was using it to make a home-made shrapnel bomb (oh yeah, alcohol + rusty kukris + broken glass), and the bard kept freaking out about my abuse of alcohol, because "Wine is our friend." I don't think he was too happy that I made him run around naked to distract people while I planted it, either. :shake: A close second has to be when I was playing the Pools of Radiance mod with Rizzen. We'd just cleared a house of orcs, and everyone split up to explore. Rizzen's last words were "How dangerous could it be?" KABOOM! Fire trap killed him instantly a second later.

    1.65 expected?
Sorry about the confusion in beta 2, Beta 3 should be working properly. Let me know if there are any further problems.

    v1.65 [Beta]
I'm working on the beta 3 for Mac as I write this, trying to get this texture item sorted out before posting it... I do think we've solved some more of the crash bugs (hopefuly laptop guys will be happy now?). As a stop gap solution to the texture problems... I seems to be a model issue right now (trying to figure out why it's screwing other textures up too though), for example, tts01_d11_01.mdl is in the patch biff, if you dump a copy of the one from the XP1 tts tileset biff into override, the texture issue goes away for that tile. so I'm trying to track down all the tiles that this affects, and also hopefully figure out what causes the change to that tile to screw the whole tile up.
